Where Do Roofs Tend To Leak?
Roofs are far more important than many of us realize. If you don’t work with roofs on a daily basis, you may brush off the fact that your roof may be needing some attention, and when it comes to that, you need to know where to turn for help! At Flashings Direct, we have all of the products you’ll need to repair your roof from common roof leaks. Previously, we gave you two common locations where roof leaks appear. Keep reading to learn more common locations where roof leaks may happen on your home.
Head Wall Flashings
On some homes, the roof stops at a vertical wall. This means that a metal flashing should be used to direct water away from the wall. You don’t want water streaming down the wall, and with a head wall flashing, the water should be directed away from the wall, even if the roof stops at the vertical wall.
Wall Step Flashing
Step flashings are placed where a roof climbs next to a vertical wall. Some roof leaks are bound to happen here, but if there is a wall step flashing installed when the shingles are laid next to the wall, you’ll be able to avoid roof leaks that can be damaging.
